Sleep

Friday. Lights out well before ten to awaken at five-thirty and lie in bed until ten after six, checking the air pollution app on the tablet to discover it had increased to 167. OK, a look out the window to see a reddish sky developing as the sun was starting to rise. Out the door under that reddish sky, the temperature reasonably warm, the restaurant open when I arrived at five minutes to seven.

Ordered the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up the papers this time before eight-thirty. Too many stories I was already familiar with and so the reading went by quickly. No complaints.

The walk home with the new camera, although I hadn't changed the lens. Still takes better pictures by far than the old V 1, but I'll keep looking to see if I can find an electronic eyepiece for the thing so I can avoid sunlight blanking out the rear display when shooting and adjust for my less than perfect right shooting eye.

Later. It is smoky out there and so I've stayed inside, finished a movie on the tablet and followed the fires on the web and the news broadcasts. These fires seem worse than the earlier fires that burned so many homes in Santa Rosa last year. Welcome to the new, longer and more dangerous California fire season.

Evening. Zip on television and so to bed early again, lights out early one hopes to sleep.

Sunday at the Fruitvale Dia de los Muertos Festival taken with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
