Surprised

Sunday. Awoke at five-thirty. OK, to sleep somewhat early and so up at six to get ready to drive to breakfast on a clear skies morning, arriving at five minutes to seven to find the restaurant dark, but for the light in the kitchen in the back, the dining area door unlocked and so entered to turn on the lights and settle down with the papers.

Had the chicken-apple sausage, eggs over medium, pancakes, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, the pancakes with butter and syrup again. Not much syrup, but it added a taste I like, something it hasn't done with a waffle or French toast. Finished up just after nine to walk to the car and drive straight home, no thought to go by the supermarket. Can't remember the last time I've gone by the market on a Sunday now, don't seem to do it unless I've run out of something critical like toilet paper.

Nothing again on the schedule, some end of month deliveries due from Amazon later, we'll play it by ear and try to get out for a couple of pictures. He said.

Later. A walk up the way to shoot a couple of pictures of the construction site and return. Still need to hold the camera up over the canvas covered fence shooting into the sun and so the framing could be better, but they seem to making some progress. Slowly, but that seems to be the story with all of these construction projects, no matter the size.

Watched the end of the women's CME Group Tour Championship on television before walking over to the lake after three to end up again taking very few pictures, sitting for a while at the white column pergola before returning feeling hungry, a little funky/dizzy/tired and so to bed to listen to the radio for half an hour hoping to clear the head. Didn't, but worth the try.

Evening. Watched the 49'ers game, or at least parts of it, before going to bed and catching the last few minutes on the radio while watching a Netflix series on the tablet. Listened to an interview with a California African American Republican at nine who was active in gathering African-American voters to the Republican party. Interesting in that she didn't seem totally off the wall. Strangely deluded, yes, (we do have our political prejudices), but not totally off the wall. I was surprised.

The photograph was taken at the Portland Zoo in November 2018 with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 24 - 120mm f 4.0 Nikkor VR lens.
