Runs

Wednesday To sleep not all that long after ten. I think. Awakened in time to listen to the KPFA five minute news before Democracy Now! started at six to then get up and pull back the bedroom window curtain to see if it was raining. Overcast, wet streets, the newspaper plastic bags wet when I picked them up, but not raining. Decided to drive to breakfast anyway it case it started when I was walking home.

Arrived, parked, fed the meter and then saw that the restaurant wasn't open, the waitresses not arriving for another ten minutes. Oh well. These things happen. Sat in the inside dining room (alone) while they put the tables and chairs out on the patio so I could sit at my usual table.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee again, still watching the weight, finishing up a little later than usual because of the opening delay and driving straight home to take the selfie, a couple of rays of sun poking through the clouds as I arrived.

Settled in at the computer to finish yesterday's entry, post the thing and process the pictures. Another day starting out as usual, but with some things that needed getting done for a change: ordering groceries from Safeway (getting short on toilet paper) and arranging for a now way overdue Protime blood thinner test.

Later. Arranged the blood test visit and ordered a bunch of stuff through Instacart, after a number of substitutions they had everything everything I needed except for toilet paper and paper towels. They were out of both. A surprise to say the least. I still have some in stock, but what's the story with that? Hoarding is still going on? Trouble with the vendors, with their manufacture? After all these months?

Had an apple and a large bowl of cereal. Odd what you want when you haven't had it in a while. Decided to listen to the last half of the Newshour on the radio and so went to lie down on the bed, only to fall asleep for an hour. Thus we have another hopefully virus-free afternoon.

Evening. The news reports say there's been a rush on the supermarkets again with the sudden rise in coronavirus cases, but it shouldn't last for very long, nothing like it lasted at the beginning of this mess. So good. I can survive.

Watched Midsomer Murders at eight. At least it was one I hadn't seen before was my first thought, but then as it progressed I wondered. Another memory test. An off the wall plot, finishing it not quite sure I understood why the woman had done the various deeds she'd done, but is was time for bed, we'll figure it out the next time it runs.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 Oakland Chinatown StreetFest with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens..
