Photographed

Friday. Lights out early again, awakening at five-thirty to get up, take the meds, grab the electric razor and then lie down to wait until six and listen to the beginning of Democracy Now as I started shaving. The morning routine, except I try to avoid awakening before six. Not much control over the start, since I don't set an alarm, but hope springs eternal as they say does madness when you repeat the same routine over and over hoping for a different outcome. At least that's what they say in more enlightened circles.

A good walk to and from breakfast, the weight a pound under target on the scale this morning and so a one pork chop with the rest of the usual suspects breakfast. Clear skies, another warm day ahead with stuff coming up we can photograph over the weekend. Today, nothing noted on the kitchen calendar.

Later. Read a news story this morning about a Dedicated Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on the east coast domain name system (DNS) host company Dyn that had brought down Twitter, PayPal and others to then discover I too couldn't resolve Twitter, PayPal and a web site I usually check daily to see what the arctic, antarctic and Greenland ice cover are up to. It's now after eleven and they're still down. Another story quoted a source speculating the culprits were probably teenagers, as evidently it's easy to put one of these DDoS things together and no one has yet to take responsibility for the attack. Hmm. Having trouble loading The Guardian as well.

Later still. It's somewhat warmer today than it was yesterday (when I was complaining) and, since I'd received another automated phone call yesterday afternoon saying I had a prescription ready for pickup, I set out again as I did yesterday to pick it up.

Started at the lake, of course, taking a single picture, and then on to the pharmacy to spend the two dollars out of pocket required, the blood thinner meds the least expensive of those I've had prescribed. Which is nice. A walk back much like the walk back yesterday, looking into and then passing a similar series of restaurants until I came to the café next to the fitness center and saw they had tables available. So an ice cream sandwich and an iced coffee. Felt good.

Home now, none of yesterday's “wobbly” feelings, although it's warmer today and I'm sitting in front of the fan with the speed set to medium rather than low. Exciting stuff around here, having notched up the fan to medium.

B.S.

Well, yes. Excitement may be overstating it a bit. What to say? Nice day, good walk, back now to take it easy for the rest of the afternoon. No complaints. Really. Just a bit of, you know, B.S..

Evening. Watched New Tricks, again one I've seen before, the second half of an episode that started last week. Again, not easy to understand (at least for me) with their accents, but played along on the guitar happily enough through to the end.

Not interested in Charlie Rose, watched the beginning of the Dalziel & Pasco episode for longer than I thought I might and then went to bed and the tablet, still looking for something I wanted to watch. No complaints, really. A good day and evening, they're saying sun through the weekend, a weekend where there are events that need to be photographed.

The photo up top was taken at last year's Fruitvale Dia de los Muertos Street Festival with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
