Nine

Thursday. Light out again just after nine to then awaken this morning at ten minutes to six, the usual two brief awakenings during the night. So another “decent” night's sleep. Up and aware, anyway, to walk to breakfast with the three papers in tow, passing by the bike stand where I'd photographed the bicycle that had been left overnight Tuesday night, to see if was gone. The owner (one assumes) picked it up yesterday before dark. So good.

The avocado and cheese omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. Seemed right. Read what I wanted of the papers and then did the usual snapping of photographs routine as I was heading back to the apartment. Clear skies, bright sun, they're saying not overly warm later. Which is good. Now, if I can find a way to talk by ass out of the house this afternoon for a walk, the day will be complete.

Later. Reset the network and Chrome browser, remembering the browser reset was the action that seems to fix it the last time the Internet slowed to a crawl. Seems to have worked, the browser reset anyway. Which is good, although the reduction in speed also showed up on the tablet which has no connection to the computer browser. So, whatever. At least the Internet is back, just not sure why.

Later still. An hour's nap. Definitely tired and so I guess not enough sleep last night. We'll skip thinking about this rumor old guys do little more than sleep (doze and bitch.) the live long day, but guys my age?

I was thinking I might go downtown, at least eat something at the City Center, but no urge whatsoever to go out so far. Think about it now and again: yes. Go: no.

Evening. Watched the discussion with Masha Gessen on Democracy Now! for her interesting take on totalitarianism that I'd listened to this morning, how it had taken over Russia and the parallels to the steps she was observing taking place here in the United States. Interesting conversation. Are we really gone that far off the rails? Another “interesting times” conversation. “May you live in...”

Nothing of interest on television and so to bed and the tablet. Another crack at a long night's sleep? Lights out by nine?

The photo up top was taken while walking home from breakfast this morning with a Nikon 1 V1 mounted with a 32mm f 1.2 Nikon 1 Nikkor lens.
