Good

Friday. I did start reading the book last night, Walter Isaacson's Leonardo Da Vinci, but crapped out and turned out the lights well before ten to then awaken at two in the morning for what seemed a good hour. Awoke at five minutes to six to get up and head out walking to breakfast in a winter coat, the sky covered in mixed clouds, the ground wet with beads of water visible on parked cars. So some rain last night, as they'd been forecasting, but not enough to make any difference really with the still burning fires to the north.

Another two strips of bacon, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, taking my time, but remembering I had a dentist's appointment at eleven.

The walk home, the usual pictures including another one in the apartment house lobby, to then sit down to edit yesterday's entry. They say a definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome. I do the journal over and over, but don't really think I expect a different outcome. I don't put the time and energy into it, the clear headed attention that's required to bring it into focus. Seems OK to me, at least, and so we're nuts, but not insane. And maybe a little lazy.

Later. A drive to Albany and the dentist's office, the traffic not too bad and so arriving twenty minutes before the appointment. Checked in and then took a quick walk along San Pablo to kill time and take one or two pictures, returning to the dentist's office at ten to eleven, thinking my dental hygienist always runs late, so we'll probably wait another fifteen minutes minimum. Except she took me right in, her prior appointment having canceled.

More traffic driving home, but back by noon to finish my truncated morning routine of looking at a list of web news sites with Law & Order episodes running in the background. Turns out I've seen all of the Law & Order episodes at least once before and showed no burning desire to see them again and switched finally to a PBS archeology program on the Clovis people. Sunny and still cool, maybe go out for lunch later.

Evening. I did finally walk to the burger drive-in and picked up a grilled chicken sandwich for dinner, an early dinner. Nothing of interest on television and so wrapped it up early again, maybe get a decent night's sleep tonight. Maybe. So far no complaints, they've turned out to ultimately pretty good.

The photo up top was taken at the Defend DACA demonstration last month at the Oakland City Hall with Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
