Thirty

Friday. Lights out well before ten to awaken then at quarter to six in time again to listen to the KPFA five minute news before Democracy Now! came on, getting up and ready to walk to breakfast under clear skies on a fairly cold (for California) morning, the eyes and nose watering more than usual. Arrived at seven, the restaurant open.

The French toast with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, going through the papers in what I thought was some detail, although I finished at a quarter to nine, again, pretty much as always.

The walk home under a bright sun, the sidewalk clear of scooters at the entrance to the Lakeview school (no school today?), the usual bicyclists and runners in evidence on this Friday.

Edited yesterday's entry babbling on about watching Angel Heart last night, but such is life these days/months/years(?). Nothing on the schedule other than completing my mail in ballot. Need to finish reading about the propositions, but it's time to get off the duff and do it.

Later. OK, the first half of the afternoon started with a dry ‘bale of hay’ sitting in the mouth a feeling I've had before and so I lied down on the bed to let it pass. Turned on the tablet to discover it couldn't find the WiFi channel to discover the router was dead. Hmm. Had another functioning router on hand and so, given time and some frustrated fumbling, managed to get it up and functioning. No fun. Still, it's done.

Evening. The head seemed better and the dry mouth long gone as evening approached, as it usually does. Either that or sitting around inside doing next to nothing clears it enough to make me think things are better. I believe they are, but I'm suspicious. Spent time with the now functioning tablet, lights out by nine-thirty.

The photo up top was taken at the Defend DACA demonstration held one year ago in September at the Oakland City Hall with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
