Nineties
Wednesday. Awoke at three minutes after six to listen to Democracy Now! talk about impeaching the president as I got ready to walk to breakfast under clear skies on a day the weather people are saying will reach into the high nineties and I believe them. Still, comfortable enough in a t-shirt and light jacket to arrive before seven and find the restaurant open and ready for business.
The single pork chop, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee this time, as I was exactly on target on the scale this morning, finishing up by eight-thirty to walk home and take the usual set of pictures, the bicyclist under the 580 Overpass, the last of four scooters that had been set out by the lake, the pedestrian in silhouette against the lake with birds at his feet and the crane up my street being started just as I reached the apartment house front door, its exhaust fumes visible in the distance.
The selfie in the lobby and then up to work on and then post yesterday's entry, the morning getting warmer and so closed all the open windows and doors in hopes of keeping it cooler for a little longer. I'm due to get the monthly Protime blood thinner test later today, but if it really gets as hot as they're saying, I'll put it off until tomorrow.
Later. Watched some small portions of the Trump news conference. I find I'm not able to listen to him more than a couple of minutes at at time. He at least makes me feel better about my own babbling.
Later still. Ninety-seven degrees into the late afternoon. I've had the curtains drawn and I've been sitting in front of the fan throughout the day, but this is no fun.
Evening. Started watching the next episode of Ken Burns’ Country Music at eight, but the time frame (1984 -1996) was a period I didn't follow much in the way of any music other than to play rock from the late sixties through mid-seventies when with friends and didn't really follow country at all and so to bed by nine to turn on the fan, the temperature they're saying still stuck in the low nineties.
