As It Comes
Tuesday. At least a couple of more hours sleep last night is my guess: got to bed early, got up two hours later than is the habit. A walk to breakfast, a bus then downtown where I bought a bus pass sticker for next month and some vitamins I'd run out of before sitting in the City Center for half an hour waiting to go to my haircut appointment. Most of a day's excitement well before noon. A walk back to the apartment then, the head feeling fine, the attitude good, no thought to stop and wait for the bus.

Hard to compare these different days, one to the other. How does feeling crappy one day compare with feeling, what, less crappy on another? Can't really tell, other than to notice as I was walking that I'd crapped out in various ways in the past walking as I was this morning, crapped out and took a bus or a nap or sat in a chair along the sidewalk to, um, recover. But I've said this before, come to think of it. Best to start by saying life is good is my guess.

So sitting here at the computer I'm going to try something with the wireless webcam suggested by one of their support people in an email. Something I skirted around in my initial setup attempts, but didn't try. Not for laziness, but for, well, lack of imagination. We shall see how it works with this next paragraph.

I believe the British term is “bollocks!”, as in no luck with a bit of extra emphasis. We shall, however, persevere. For the moment, however, I think I'll head downtown to meet with the old and new ex-employees of a shipping company I'm familiar with and have a brew. Or two.

Later. It turned out very well, our get together at this Somar bar at three. Met some people I haven't seen in years. Turned out Somar is a new bar opened by an ex-employee at the old company in March located near the newly renovated Fox theater. Nice. Chancy thing, opening a bar, I'm told. This one seems right.

So the evening is here, the night still young, I think I'll take another crack at this going to bed early business. See if I don't feel as good tomorrow. Talk with the techie at the webcam company. Get the damned thing working. Pay my rent. Try not to add any more to my credit card balance. Eat a peach. Eat a plum. Remember Minerva has said there's a good year ahead.

I take it you had more than just one at this Somar bar?

Take it as it comes.
