Time

Saturday. Lights out by ten to then take my time getting to sleep. Hmm. Not sure why. Awake then at about six thinking it was Saturday and the waitresses who open the morning café on the weekends often arrive later than they do during the week and so took my time getting it together before setting out to walk to breakfast. Cool enough to cause the eyes to water, although the nose seemed to behave. Mostly.

OK, the oatmeal, toast, sliced bananas and coffee for breakfast because whatever it was we ate yesterday didn't hold back when I got on the scale. Nothing too terrible, a pound over target, but what the hell? I do like their oatmeal.

And so the walk home going quickly, the sky clear, the sun shining on this coming weekend, although they're saying some chance of rain later today. We'll take whatever comes. Again, just after ten, the head clear and feeling good, but then we said that yesterday somewhat dreading the afternoon for, it turned out, good reason.

As in you were hosed?

As in we slowed down and didn't do much other than watch television on a day when there wasn't much I was too enthused about on television. But then what the hell? I didn't even own a television set in my late twenties through my thirties. Nothing new about this current particular affliction predilection.

Later. Overcast after noon and so there could be some rain out there somewhere in the area as the weather people were saying. A walk to the lake and then on by the drummer at the Highway 580 overpass to the farmers market, thinking maybe getting some apples and peaches, but ending up eating a waffle square topped with sour cream. Good sour cream.

On back to the apartment, the head in a bit of a bubble, the vision just a little off in spots when I turned my head. Nothing like yesterday and the day before, but not great. Nice to be home, anyway.

Later still. After three, feeling reasonably decent. Good. Better to be good. Watched some golf, watched some Law & Order episodes, parts of them, anyway, switching back and forth with the golf. What one does on a Saturday anymore, I guess.

You're overdoing this “wasting your day” shtick.

What freaks me is how comfortable I appear to be with it. Still, feel pretty good and so another walk over to the lake to take pictures, another short trip, but heard the drummers playing and watched others on their periphery doing some of the usual stuff.

Evening. Nothing on television and so to bed by nine with lights out by ten. Another difficult to get to sleep night, though, we'll see how this plays out in the morning. Hasn't seemed to matter now, this up and down getting to sleep stuff, for some time.
