Time

Sunday. To bed relatively early, with lights out well before ten, to awaken finally at ten minutes to six. No five minute KPFA news broadcasts before six on weekends and so took my time getting up and getting ready to drive to breakfast, the waitress who opens the restaurant on Sundays often arriving later than during the other days of the week and so it's best not to arrive too early. I said.

Too early. OK, wait in the parked car until she arrives, no big deal, the sky clear and the forecasts of even hotter temperatures today looking as if they would pan out. The East Bay Times hadn't arrived again, when I set out and so the oatmeal, toast, sliced bananas and coffee over the papers, having noticed two pandorea flowers were now hidden away in the container, the first to be seen in some time.

Home now. We'll go to the Chinatown StreetFest this morning, we will, I'd like to get enough pictures to flesh out a web section, but I suspect it's going to be a tussle.

Later. Much better, maybe because it wasn't quite as warm or the fact I was in a t-shirt this time and carried the one camera rather than two. It's the camera and lens I use in almost all the shots anyway and so leaving the second one behind isn't really a problem in getting pictures. Not that I got all that many today, but again, a better outing if not a better outcome.

Spent about the same amount of time, the crowd smaller than yesterday's crowd and so, I suspect, making it harder to find usable pictures. Takes time and luck and being surrounded by people makes for better opportunities.

Which means you didn't get enough for a section.

I suspect I can put together a section if I push it, although I'll have to swallow uncomfortably and hide my eyes when I do it. More so than with other swallow hard and post them decisions. But we'll see tomorrow when I finish the last of the less wonderful pictures.

Nothing on television and so fired up the tablet, managed to watch the two Elementary episodes that run starting at five and during the period I was working on the photographs I had a golf tournament running in the background. Hard to follow a golf match when you're not watching the play and so there was a certain element of moving back and forth while attempting it. At least the mood was right.

Evening. Nothing on television until nine, when PBS was running another episode of Endeavour, a new episode I haven't seen before, and so got up from the tablet and gave it a try. Gave up after thirty minutes. Not worth staying up late, we'll watch it again, if we're given the chance, at a more sensible time.

The photo up top was taken at the Oakland Chinatown StreetFest today with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
