August 10, 2018

Friday. Lights out early last night well before nine to awaken then at five-thirty, but still a good relatively long night's rest. Slow to get up, though, taking my time while wondering how this day would go after yesterday's long series of naps.

The sun shining this morning while walking to breakfast. Feeling a bit slow? Walking a problem? More so than on any morning? Maybe yes, maybe no, but arrived to find the restaurant open at five minutes to seven and so ordered the two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. One pound under our target on the scale this morning.

Even more sun, of course, walking home, the weather people saying the wind from the ocean will clear the skies today and blow the smoke to the east and so the air quality will be better. Seems so. The usual pictures along the way, this fellow futzing around trying to start one of the Bird scooters. I think. Took him a while, although you'd assume, wearing a helmet, this wouldn't have been his first ride.

I'd passed by this bottle walking in, took a picture that could have been better and so took another picture on the way home. An energy drink. I was suspecting alcohol, although the bottle colors and design suggested otherwise. Ginseng based. Wonder what it does that might help when you're feeling tired?

Leave it there. Caffeine is more than enough to handle in the morning.

Yeah, yeah. Adventuresome as hell, we are.

Later. Alright, we're certainly in better shape than we were yesterday, although I still did lie down and watched an hour's episode on the tablet, not really up for doing anything more strenuous like sitting in front of the television set or the computer. Not that any of the options I have here inside could be considered ‘strenuous’. Still, better. Better is better.

A walk up the way to take another picture of the construction site. Doesn't look as if there's any visible difference. I suspect the actual construction of the living units might not start until next year. But took a picture and I didn't fall over on the sidewalk or feel particularly fuzzy when doing it.

Evening. The battery charge on the tablet was down to the low fifties when I turned it off before ten, so that's been the story for the evening. Watched a three part series that wasn't worth the watching (IMHO), but now the day was done and so lights out to greet the coming weekend.
