Considered

Saturday. Awoke at five-thirty to blink and then get up at six, the temperature reasonable and the sky overcast. Good. Up thinking of ways to talk myself into driving and taking the car keys with me when I stepped out the apartment door, but thought again when I felt the cool outside air on the stairs and decided to walk. Better.

Took a picture as I passed the construction site above the sidewalk at the base of my hill, looks like they're getting closer to finishing, on to arrive at the restaurant before the first waitress arrived and so entered the dining area door again, turned on the lights and settled in with the papers.

The French toast with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, one pound over the target on the scale this morning as it's been now for a while. Just being careful. Finished up early at eight-thirty and set out for home under a still overcast sky, the temperature still cool, feeling fine in a long sleeved shirt and light jacket, one hopes a comfortable weekend ahead.

A quick snapshot of a line of bicyclists streaming along Grand. I've often run into smaller groups of riders heading around the lake while walking to breakfast and wondered at their getting up so early, less so I guess for a larger group streaming along on a weekend.

An out of focus flower, a young woman sitting on the wall below the Lakeview school and then a couple of shots of Lime scooters on the sidewalks. The lone scooter by the lake I'd passed while walking in still there, the first I've seen in a while when there had been always been quite a few lined up in the past. Maybe they're learning where they get the most use and they've started to move them around.

Two pictures of the construction site above the sidewalk at the bottom of my hill, but no selfie this morning as the lobby had another tenant and her daughter standing there when I arrived. I'm a little self-conscious about that.

Later. Took a bus to the Broadway ATM, missing the return bus by five minutes and so walking back home, stopping to pick up a pint of strawberry ice cream at the 7-11 look-alike along the way. Ate it for lunch. Haven't done that in some time. Settled in then to watch the BMW Golf Tournament for the first half of the afternoon before settling in with the tablet.

Evening. Nothing on television and so to bed by eight, leaving the fan in the living room again. Warm, but not that warm. A good day, all things considered.

The photo up top was taken at the 2018 Oakland Art & Soul Festival with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
