Art & Life

August 19, 2019

Afterward

Monday. Lights out at eight and right to sleep, awakening at a quarter to six. A first for that. Up to walk to breakfast under low clouds, the temperature cool, arriving to find the restaurant open with people inside. Took a picture of the Ford Go-Bike rack on the way when I noticed there were no bikes in place.

The avocado omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up at eight thirty-five and heading out for home, taking a photo of a bicycle rider at the theater intersection just because there was a bicycle rider there. On below the Lakeview school and the 580 Overpass, the construction site above the sidewalk at the bottom of my hill not having changed over the weekend, but again a photo just because.

Feel pretty good. The sleep last night? Not sure it shows in the selfie taken in the lobby, but upstairs then to finish up yesterday's entry and think about what one does on an overcast Monday morning here on a hill. Maybe take a picture of the apartment house construction site up the street? Stick my toes out the door?

Later. Tired later this morning and so lied down for a while and listened to the radio for an hour or so, getting up feeling better. Clearer. Ready to, well, do what? Nothing I wanted to watch on either television or the tablet, nowhere I wanted to go and, believe me, I went through a long list trying to entice myself out the door.

Evening. OK, finally crashed on the bed with the tablet to watch more of two CBS series, now that I've reloaded the app, thinking this solitary existence stuff they warn you about may be catching up with us. Lights out by nine, my lights out not all that long afterward.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 Oakland Chinatown Street Fest with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
