Thing

Thursday. Lights out again at nine-thirty, radio off soon after, my lights out around ten. Pretty much as usual in other words. Awoke at five-thirty, too early, but up and out the door with all three papers in tow this time, the sky overcast, the temperature cool, arriving to find the restaurant had just opened and I was the first diner to arrive.

The single pork chop (normally two are included with their breakfast), eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast for no good reason, it's just what came out of my mouth when the waitress arrived, finishing up this time around nine.

Home as yesterday under a still overcast sky. I hadn't taken a picture of the close to fully loaded Ford Go-Bike rack on the way in, but noted that all but two of the bikes had been rented while at breakfast. Struck by flowers I'd not seen before in a large planter not far beyond, the picture not really showing the dazzling colors. Crossed Grand at the theater to photograph the new message on their marquee.

The head clearer, the energy better than it had been yesterday morning, but still some thoughts I'd better get in more walking today, the usual refrain.

A selfie in the lobby, up to scribble a finish to yesterday's entry and post.

Later. Watched another episode released today of a Netflix series I've been following before setting out on a twenty-five minute walk to the Lakeshore ATM, figuring a bus to the Broadway ATM would result in little or no exercise if I was able to catch a return bus home. So good. Got in the walk. Best to set these things up in a way that makes it harder to bail.

Evening. Watched television on and off through the evening, the reception of the channel that carries the various MHZ foreign language programs was fizzing in and out throughout and so checked, Vera on PBS at eight, tried to watch the French Spiral – Season Six, Episode 7 on the problem channel also at eight, gave up and went to bed. A doctor's appointment tomorrow morning at nine-forty, not looking forward to juggling breakfast with the bus in getting to the damned thing.

The photo up top was taken at the Oakland Chinatown StreetFest Sunday with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
