On It
Wednesday. I'm guessing a decent night's sleep last night, although I awakened briefly a number of times, awakening for good at five-forty to get up on an overcast and reasonably cool morning, the weather people saying it will reach the seventies later this afternoon. Arrived at the restaurant before seven to find it open and at least one customer inside.
The N.Y. Times wasn't delivered this morning. Not sure if the person who delivers it made a mistake (he delivers all three papers, throwing them wrapped in plastic from his car window) or if someone picked it up when passing by. Happens now and then, most often with the Times.
Ordered the Eggs Benedict, country potatoes, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, going through the two papers in more detail than usual without the more substantial Times, finishing up early well before eight-thirty, setting out for home, the sky still overcast, the temperature still quite bearable, although I seemed somewhat more tired than I have in the recent past.
Activity at the construction site above the sidewalk near the bottom of my hill and so a couple of pictures. I assume they know what they're doing as it's clear I don't. Home to take three selfies, one with my eyes closed, something a little different at least. A race to get to the bathroom as the body was telling me it was well past time to go. Won the race. I guess, after a large meal, the stomach tells the rest of the alimentary canal it's OK to let go as we aren't going to starve, but I wish it gave a better head's up instead of just shouting: now! now! now!
Another Protime blood thinner test today at the lab, so we'll get more walking in later.
Later. Not sure why so tired, but lied down on the bed for an hour before watching a new episode of a Netflix series that was released today and then catching a bus to Broadway and walking up Broadway for the twenty minutes it takes to the lab. Photographed the three apartment house projects on Webster and at 23rd and Valdez on the way with the small Nikon 1 V3 camera I've been using at breakfast. Quite light and easy to keep out of sight under the light jacket.
I arrived just before one to find myself first in line and so wrapped the blood draw up in all of ten minutes to have a yogurt parfait and a small coffee at the building café before walking down Broadway, getting on a bus to Grand as I passed a stop to wait ten minutes for a bus home. No thought to pick anything up for lunch. Tired, I must admit. Because I haven't been walking enough?
Evening. Watched a Swedish Johan Falk – Lockdown episode I'd seen before at six, remembering some of it, and waiting until eight to watch a Dutch Baantjer Mysteries – The Murder on the Menu episode that I hadn't seen before and then went to bed, thinking maybe I should subscribe to cable and stop complaining about what's available on non-cable TV. Except I know if I did I'd be complaining about what was available on it.
