Turns Out
Friday. To sleep not all that long after ten to awaken at six-fifteen and so a pretty good night's rest, up after listening to the rest of Democracy Now! to walk to breakfast under a bright sun, the weather people saying a high of eighty degrees later this afternoon. Arrive to turn on the lights in the inner dining area and settle in at my table with the papers, two other diners arriving to sit inside while I was there.
The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee, the weight as low as it's been in quite a while on the scale this morning, finishing up just after nine to walk home under what was now a warmer bright sun, but not so warm as to be uncomfortable. About half of the people I was passing on the sidewalk were wearing masks, so people are still being careful.
Home to take the selfie in the lobby and then settle down at the computer, mess with yesterday's entry before posting, post, process the morning's pictures and start here, it now being close to noon. Sun as well as grey colored overcast up there, I wonder if that's the smoke they were saying would be at high altitude, the air cleaner down here.
Later. Charged the camera batteries and packed them up with their charger units, so that's done. Put together the meds that will be needed to get me through the two weeks plus that I'll be gone. We'll pack the clothes and wrap up what little is left tomorrow. Worked on getting the laptop updated, thinking maybe take it with me, but it's clearly toast. Over ten years old running Windows 7. Now to lie down and watch something on the tablet. Tired.
Evening. Watched the first fifteen minutes of Inspector Morse at eight still feeling overly tired and so bailed and went to bed. So much for saying I got enough rest last night. Or was it today's relatively mild but unusual activity preparing to head out for Portland tomorrow? Lights out by ten, we'll see how this night's sleep turns out.
