Thought To Become

Friday. I did watch one or two things on the tablet last night, but lights out before nine to see if I couldn't get a decent night's sleep. Awoke but once at about one, not unusual to awaken about then, but a difficult time getting back to sleep, awakening again thirty minutes before the alarm was set to go off at six. Hmm. After yesterday's marathon series of naps maybe that's all the sleep I needed. Felt clear headed, decent energy, so up early to fritter away the time until the morning papers arrived.

Clear sky, bright sun just now above the horizon. A good breakfast and able, after arriving early, to take my time over the papers. No new wars, no new tragedies since Christmas, although the existing ones are depressing enough.

So again: home, bright eyed, bushy tailed with a nice day outside. We'll start by dropping a package off at the FedEx store and see where it may go from there.

Later. Wrap and label the package for my sister and then a walk over to the FedEx shop to get it on its way, a walk on to the Lakeshore ATM and then back by the lake taking one or two pictures without particular enthusiasm. Well, what the hell, at least this time they're in focus.

Still feel good, clear headed, and off again downtown around noon thinking to have lunch in the City Center only to find the bagel shop closed, deciding to walk on to Peet's, where I had a pastry-croissant affair - flaky, not too bad - and a cup of too strong coffee. Usually I remember to have them cut it half with water.

Pushed to finish up quickly sitting out on their patio in time to cross the street and catch the bus I'd ridden in on back home. Although I thought about it I didn't stop early at the 7-11 look-alike for an ice cream bar, although I did get off a stop early to walk by the construction site, but without pictures. Couldn't see anything they'd done that I'd hadn't already recorded. Home by three. So far, so good.

Evening. A decent day, clear headed and all that (we do come back to the clear headed bit, rather nice to experience through an entire day), so naturally to bed early to continue watching Grey's Anatomy on Netflix, one of the cable television series I've heard of, but never actually watched before. It does remind me why I never thought to become a doctor or a surgeon when I was in school.

The photo was taken at Lake Merritt this morning with the Nikon D4s mounted with a 24-120mm f/4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
