Any Sense

Friday. An uneven, but not such a bad, night's sleep. I think. Up at six to get ready to head to breakfast in the pouring rain. They were projecting rain today and they definitely seem to have nailed it. A real downpour as I drove to the morning restaurant and managed to get from the car to the parking meter and then to the restaurant front door without getting wet. Too wet.

OK, another plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries breakfast over the papers before the drive back to the apartment, the rain still coming down, but not the downpour of the earlier morning. Looks better out there now, but it's not showing any signs of clearing up until much later. Still, water, snow in the mountains. We need both and, given the cloud cover and such, it's at least not very cold. Which is good. It is.

Later. Little rain out there now. An hour or so nap, some time on the tablet and then a walk to the 7-11 look-alike for the usual grilled chicken sandwich, just a quick trip out the door and back, and that's pretty much been it.

Evening. An hour of Democracy Now!, listening to the whole thing this time. Depressing stuff. A New Tricks at seven, the last episode of this series and, of course, one I've seen before. No idea who'd done it until the very end. Writing these things, any and all these things, must be very difficult as so few of them seem believable or to to make any sense.

The photo up top was taken at the Oakland 2010 Holiday Parade with a Nikon D3s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
