Won't

Monday. Lights out again at ten to awaken at a quarter to six. Seems a pattern. Anyway, awake in time to listen to the five minute before six KPFA news and then Democracy Now! that dedicated their broadcast with a full hour's interview with Noam Chomsky in an overview of the state of the world. I'm going to listen to it again later this morning when I finish a bath.

Cold and clear on the walk to breakfast, having to wait three or four minutes for the kitchen worker to arrive before entering the dining area to turn on the lights and settle in with the papers. Ordered the single pork chop, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, I being the only diner present for the first close to an hour. Evidently sensible people sleep in on New Year's Eve when they're able.

The usual walk home, the usual series of pictures, the attitude good, the sinus-upper palate palatable and so home to post yesterday's entry and take that bath.

Later. Took the bath and lied down on the bed. Tired. Tired, tired, not just the regular tired, but wasted. Finally decided to get up and give a walk over to the lake a shot. Did this twice, bailing on the first try, but over to the lake with the head in a tired/fried bubble, took a couple of pictures and then returned to the apartment to (what else?) lie down again. Until close to five.

Evening. Head clearer, but still slow, if not tired, and so watched another two hour and a half episodes of Beck starting at six and trundled off to bed at nine, lights out soon after. Maybe we'll have some fireworks popping in the distance at midnight to introduce me to the New Year, and then again, maybe we won't.

The photo up top was taken at a 50th wedding anniversary party a long time ago.
