Happened

Sunday. OK, an uneven night's rest to say the least, awakening at five minutes to six to take the blood pressure (123/67) and then prepare to drive to breakfast, some light rain out there this morning. I've taken the blood pressure med daily for the last three days instead of every other day, as the pressure has been higher than I'd like. Now, after a few more days of this, will it drop too low? I'm suspecting it might and so we'll be taking readings more often than not and blabbering about it here.

A drive to breakfast, getting the gas tank refilled at the Mobile station across from the restaurant before parking. When was the last time I refilled the gas tank? Months. Long enough not to want to check the journal to try and find out. The restaurant had just opened when I arrived and so to my table and the papers as always, the day now ahead.

The eggs Benedict, country potatoes, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up just after nine to walk to the car and drive home, no thought to go by the supermarket again. I'm sure we'll put it off until we run out of something critical, but not til then. The usual selfie before settling in with yesterday's entry, giving up on any serious editing before posting. The mind doesn't want (or is able) to focus when I'm what I call clear headed, let alone when I'm feeling tired after a long night. No complaints really, otherwise I'd give up on this altogether, just noting the decline. Maybe one of those concerns that keep me up at night.

Later. Spent an hour or so lying on the bed and listening to the radio, an interesting program on how William Burroughs influenced and collaborated with many of the rock bands that included Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Kurt Cobain and many others, which means I didn't really get any sleep. Had no idea. Got up finally to watch the last half of the 49'ers/Saints game that ended with the 49'ers winning with a field goal in the last two seconds of the game. Finished up by watching the first of the two Elementary episodes that started at five. One was clearly more than enough and went to bed.

Evening. Today is the 39th anniversary of John Lennon's assassination, killed on December 8, 1980. I remember hearing of it in the on the radio and pacing that evening away, still living in the old Rip Off Ranch on San Francisco's Potrero Hill. Some things you clearly remember however many lives ago they may have happened.

The photo up top was taken in December 2017 of the city workers strike at the Oakland City Hall with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
