Eight

Friday. Lights out and radio off again at nine-thirty to awaken at five minutes after six. Not a bad time, anything between six and six-fifteen is success. First a blood pressure reading: 138/86. I've been taking the blood pressure me in the mornings now for a while, yet it was 143/77 last night before bed and it freaked me a bit. OK take the blood pressure med with the other meds and we'll see what it looks like when we return.

Out the door on another foggy, but not overly cold morning, to arrive before seven as usual and find the restaurant open with people inside. Happening now more often, this being open and ready to go, no entering on my own to turn on the lights.

The two strips of bacon, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up by a quarter to nine again, to set off and take another picture of the flower in the sidewalk planter, the Ford Go-bikes again and then to the line of Lyft scooters on the sidewalk by the lake, two people, one after another, taking a scooter and heading in their various directions. A snapshot of the people working finishing up the house roof at the bottom of my hill, the selfie and then up to look at the entry I'd abandoned yesterday for one reason or another. At least the computer behaved and the blood pressure was somewhat better: 123/71.

Later. Needed to find an old invoice and so ended up going through piles of paperwork that needed trashing or filing, this taking up most of the afternoon. Didn't track it down, but no more piles of paperwork to be avoided anymore. Surprised myself, it seems to have happened without a second thought.

I'd checked the blood pressure again at one forty-five and had it come in at 133/71, this after having taken the med this morning. And so took another. I've not done that in the past. Another reading at five-twenty and it was 153/61. Must have been a mistake. Another right after at 161/79 and then again at 138/72, still not good. Am I taking it wrong? I'm careful in positioning the cup, sitting and resting the arm on the desk, but I better get a reading at a pharmacy tomorrow to test. We'll see what it looks like before bed.

Evening. Well, let's see. The crankier than usual Chief Inspector Morse managed to put me right to bed not long after eight.

The photo up top was taken at the 2015 Oakland Holiday Parade with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
