Alarm
Monday. Awoke for good at six-twenty after having gotten to sleep not long after ten. Not bad. Up to take the blood pressure and find it to be fine, took the blood pressure med and listened to the rest of Democracy Now! before getting up for good and driving in a fairly decent rain to the Lakeshore ATM before heading over the hill to park across from the 7-11 store. Crossed Grand to the restaurant under an umbrella. Entered the indoor dining area, turned on the lights and settled in at my table with the papers.
The chicken-apple sausage, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee, finishing up by nine to walk to the car and drive straight home, still raining, to take the selfie in the lobby, take the blood pressure (even better than this morning's readings) and settle in at the computer to finish and post yesterday's entry, process the morning's pictures and start here before eleven.
Later. A message from the cardiologist saying I needed to get a blood test to see if the increased levels of the blood pressure med I've been taking have had a negative effect on my kidneys. OK, I can do that. Meanwhile the blood pressure has behaved rather nicely through the afternoon, although we've needed to take three doses of the blood pressure med to do so. Still, not too bad. I guess.
Otherwise spent the afternoon watching this and that on the tablet in addition to listening to the usual news programs. Cold, though, and so ran the living room heater for the first time through most of the afternoon.
Evening. Watched an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie on the tablet I hadn't heard of before, End Of Days, with Gabriel Byrne playing the devil come up from hell to end the world. Some interesting special effects, but that was about it. Lots of running around people shooting people and blowing things up that I finished just before ten to end up watching the bedroom clock turn eleven while still pretty much wide awake. No complaints, I did this to myself, we'll know soon enough if I'm able to awaken later than usual in the morning to the alarm.
