To Bed

Friday. Lights out last night just after eight to sleep through until quarter after six, one of the longer night's sleep I've had recently. A light sleep, but still sleep, so maybe we won't be taking a nap later.

Anyway, up to drive to breakfast, as it was indeed raining this morning, the weather people saying it started late last night, and so another oatmeal with toast breakfast. For whatever reason I more often than not avoid the various traditional breakfast meats. Yes, the ocular migraine avoidance of “cured” meats, but more a definite aversion to it that comes right from the gut. Still surprises me after how many times have I mentioned/complained/talked about it?

Still raining when I left to find the car boxed in by a truck delivering supplies to pet store near the morning café and so watched out for traffic as the driver backed up his truck and I was able to pull out. Oddly, another car quickly darted into my parking space before the truck driver could move forward again and so I left him honking at the driver. I say oddly as there was a long line of open parking spaces not far beyond, perhaps invisible to the car's driver.

Well, something a little different.

A dental cleaning appointment later at noon. Let's hope the traffic is not too bad and the rain has died down, although it's coming down fairly hard at the moment.

Later. A light rain driving to the dentist's in decent traffic, decent enough so that I arrived twenty minutes early and then ended up having the hygienist run twenty minutes late. Such is life. Good that she's nature's perfect hygienist or I might have been a teeny bit upset.

Still the dread in driving, though. Again, a good round trip, no complaints, but this growing older business has downsides I wasn't expecting or, perhaps more accurately, they've come in ways I've never before experienced. But so what, we're home, it isn't raining and the driving is done.

Oh, and the teeth are in good shape. She said. And, since she's nature's perfect hygienist, there's no way she'd tell a fib.

Evening. More rain this day than I thought the weather people were forecasting and so time on the tablet, time watching television and time cooking spaghetti with clam sauce for dinner. Tired and so we'll see who's on Charlie Rose and then, I suspect, we'll head to bed.

The photo up top was taken last Saturday at the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
