Enough

Thursday. To sleep early enough, but up twice during the night to then awaken at six-thirty some fifteen minutes late. OK, speed up the get up and get out of bed routine to set out for breakfast on a clear, sunny and brisk morning, arriving at the restaurant at five minutes after seven, not much later than usual, the restaurant open and the day underway. Hey.

A cheese with mushrooms omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, wading through the papers and finishing at ten minutes to nine. I'd walked by a group of teachers preparing to picket below the Lakeview school while walking in, a larger group now while walking back, waving at the cars blowing their horns in support. And so pictures.

On then home, taking a hurried (out of focus) selfie on the way to the apartment, to look at yesterday's entry without much enthusiasm. Not good. Worked on it for a while, did the usual thinking as to why I still keep doing these damned things (which doesn't seem to make a difference, no more than these thoughts have had in the past) and so posted without a second thought.

Later. Learned there was an Oakland teachers strike demonstration and then a march at eleven at the Oakland City Hall that I'd missed by half an hour. I have to admit I could have put myself together and arrived in time to take photographs, but just didn't have the interest, something I'm worried about for the Chinese New Year Parade coming up this weekend. But we'll see.

Evening. Nothing on television and so to bed just after eight again to continue with one or two things on the tablet, listen to the BBC News on NPR (what else?) and turn the lights out before ten. Seem to be pushing it now, one way or another, until ten and then getting to sleep within the next half hour. Seems to work, although the sleep time seems to work out to be somewhat less than seven hours. Enough?

Monday's No Wall demonstration at Lake Merritt taken with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 Nikkor VR lens.
