Nine
Wednesday. The wind and rain picked up last night after turning out the lights at nine-thirty to soon get to sleep without awakening then until six this morning to listen to Democracy Now! on the radio as I got up and drove to breakfast under a very light rain, the restaurant open, the weather people saying the rain will ease off this afternoon.
Ordered the chicken-apple sausage, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast for no particular reason other than that's what came out of my mouth, the weight a little over a pound under target this morning. Still quite easy to keep it in check, wish I'd known the secret when I was young.
You know the secret now?
Other than I should have retired when I was twenty, I'd say no.
Finished up by eight-thirty, still lightly raining, to drive by the teachers picketing below the Lakeshore school, but not able to take a picture as the light was green when I passed by. Home by nine.
Later. Guerneville, not all that far north of here, has received twenty inches of rain in this current storm, the rain we've been getting here is no way close to that. I used to drive up there in the 70's on a regular basis, but haven't returned now in decades.
Later. Realized I was due (actually a week overdue) for a Protime blood thinner test and, since it looked as if it was clearing with the weather people saying little to no rain through Thursday, decided to take the bus to the Broadway ATM and then walk on to the lab. Silly not to put it off until tomorrow, when they said the weather would indeed be better, but I was feeling antsy and set out to the bus stop.
The bus to Broadway and the ATM, a walk then up Broadway, lucking out and meeting a bus not far along to arrive at the lab and find no one waiting in line. Took all of five minutes to have the blood drawn. Good.
A yogurt parfait (with granola and mixed fruit) and coffee at the building café and then a walk back to the Grand Avenue bus stop, taking a couple of pictures along the way, to include a line of the newly arrived Spin scooters parked across from the Grand Avenue stop.
Evening. Didn't feel all that tired to or from the lab, but quite tired after I returned and so the usual time on the tablet after listening to the rest of the Cohen Hearing online. To bed by nine.
