Better Tomorrow
Wednesday. A cold has been coming on for the last three days, maybe more, but noticeably these last three, particularly last night and today. Will it bloom into something ugly or will it not? Hard to say. I've seen them ratchet up slowly and then last for weeks. There's been a lot of it going around. They say stress encourages it. Could be. A rattle in the chest, a cough. A traditional way to leave the world.
Are you planning on leaving the world?
No, not really, but these thoughts occur. We've had two family members of people in my group die over the holidays, one forty-seven, one in her late seventies. Maybe that's why people have traditionally kept a wary eye during the winter passage, so many people passing in and around it.
Thursday. Home today. Nasty cold, but I've had worse. Nice if I feel better tomorrow.
