Tonight

Tuesday. To bed and lights out by ten, but another take your time getting to sleep night, awakening at six-fifteen feeling just fine. Seems to have been enough sleep.

A walk then to breakfast, a bit cool, but not too bad. The oatmeal, fruit cup, order of toast and coffee breakfast before walking home on another sunny morning. So good.

A haircut scheduled for noon and then a demonstration against Betsy DeVos at the federal building, Trump's pick as the Secretary of Education, so we'll bring both cameras and see if we can't catch the tail end of the demonstration as it's also scheduled to start at noon. I can usually get out by twelve-thirty if I arrive early. So we'll see. But first finish this and then a bath for the hair. It looks like a hay stack.

Later. The bath seems to have drained some of this morning's energy and so out the door to catch the bus but with one camera in tow, arriving at the haircut appointment ten minutes before noon, finishing at twelve-thirty. Up the escalator and over to the federal building to find a much larger crowd than I'd been expecting.

Twenty minutes of taking pictures, getting enough for a web section after counting them when I got home. The hash tag on the web site was #ResistTrumpTuesdays, but this demonstration was protesting the appointment of Betsy DeVos, the charter school advocate, as Trump's Secretary of Education. The fact she'd been cleared by the Education Committee today didn't seem to be slowing anyone down.

A walk by the small sundry store to pick up a box of (what else?) Good & Plenty as the protest was breaking, then on to the bagel shop for a pastry and coffee out at an outside table, the day so far going well. The shorter night's sleep last night was now getting in the way, but not much. Checked the NextBus app, got up, walked to the stop and hopped on a bus home two minutes later.

It's now coming up on two. Maybe a nap? Lie down for a bit? Eat something?

You have pictures to process.

Later.

Later still. Processed somewhat more than half the pictures needed for a web section, we'll get to more of them later. Get to them and maybe finish them this evening, but we're not making any bets. Still tired I'm now assuming from lack of sleep (or something) and not because today's outing took any great amount of energy. We've done lots more than we did today without crapping out.

Evening. Still tired and so put aside any thought of finishing today's pictures and spent the time on the tablet. We're at least tired enough to really sleep tonight.

The photo up top was taken while walking home from breakfast this morning with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 105mm f 2.8 Macro Nikkor lens.
