Waiting
Wednesday. It was lights off after nine to then awaken at six this morning, after what I'm guessing was a decent night's rest. Not quite sure what a decent night's rest is anymore, but good enough. At least there's no nodding off at inappropriate times, perhaps because the sinus-upper palate thing keeps me aware. Or something like that, we're starting this with more babble than we want or need.
Cold out there and so a walk with the eyes watering and the nose running. They're saying rain later today through tomorrow morning, but not starting until I get back from breakfast. Had the chicken-apple sausage, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, the weight down to just over one forty-nine this morning. One day I'll get around to asking what actually inside of something called chicken-apple sausage, I will, but not today.
The price of regular bumped up a dime and so crossed the street after breakfast for a picture of the sign as well as one of the sidewalk. Back to the restaurant side of Grand and another picture, this time capturing the young woman I often run into walking home coming toward me on the sidewalk wearing her odd looking helmet. Similarly with the flowering plant, another bud in the making. Finally one at the 580 overpass waiting on the light. Home now finally to start the laundry.
Later. Laundry done, folded and hung by noon, the socks a little later, and so another afternoon ahead, the sky now overcast and so assuming the rain on the way. Law & Order episodes are playing in the background, all of which I've seen before and don't really feel like paying much attention to them again, and so switching back and forth with France 24 more often than not. Once you've watched France 24 for an hour, though, you've pretty much seen what you're going to see for the rest of the hours in the day unless Trump breaks his schedule and sends out an unexpected tweet.
Now, now.
I continue to check the Arctic Sea Ice News web site for their daily report on ice extent in both the Arctic and Antarctic - the Arctic now gaining ice through March, the Antarctic of course losing it through March - in addition to reading relevant stories in the papers and the various news sites. The ice at both poles is lower than they've been, a record low in the Arctic, and so I'm following along with interest. Almost makes me wish I were going to be around long enough to see what ultimately happens this mid-century, albeit without any desire to have to experience it.
Later still. Started raining at three. They were saying maybe half an inch here before it was over, quite a bit more as the storm heads east and runs up against the mountains. So good. We need rain.
Worked on the tax return, adding the needed numbers to the Turbo Tax form. Not a difficult task and it doesn't take all that long, but I manage to drag it out by doing it in small increments. I'll file by the end of the month, but I could have filed by now with minimal effort. Then that's been the story with most things sitting on my plate.
Evening. It's been a disjointed day with little more to show than the laundry done and babbling here. Nothing on television and so to bed and the tablet early. I'd gotten an email saying the package that was due Sunday would be delivered by the USPS today, but no sign of it or the mailman. Could be the mail has arrived and I didn't get any mail. Doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Still, either way, the package hasn't arrived. So screw it. We'll stumble on waiting.
