Hope

Thursday. An uninterrupted night's rest awakening at just after six to get up and head out for breakfast on a quite cold and clear morning, the eyes watering, but not as much as I would have expected for such a low temperature. No complaints. Arrived cold to the bone at the restaurant, leaving my coat on as I sat down and started on the papers.

The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, not finishing until nine, remembering to cross the street and take a picture of the increase in gas prices I'd forgotten to document yesterday and then on back across Grand to take the usual walk and pictures, but stopping to make a haircut appointment for later today at two. Good. Progress. Another selfie arriving home, checking the car battery to see that it had at least the rest of the day to charge before heading up to futz with yesterday's entry before posting. So far, so good. I'd say.

Later. A walk to the ATM on Lakeshore, a walk back to the café by the fitness center to sit and have a bagel with cream cheese and coffee for lunch, tarrying long enough to walk to the haircut to arrive by two. Home now with a lighter head. Well, the hair shorter and less tangled.

Evening. We did get some walking in, we did finally get the haircut done and the car battery continues to charge, although it won't be done until the morning. A productive day, given the way the days tend to go around here.

Nothing I wanted to watch on television and so to bed by eight to listen to the radio and stretch turning the lights out until well after nine. It's been a decent day, be nice to finish it with a decent night's sleep. One can hope.

The photograph was taken at the 2009 Oakland Children's Christmas Parade with a Nikon D3s mounted with an 70 - 200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR II lens at f 5.6 at 1/40th second, ISO 200.
