Again

Wednesday. Took forever getting to sleep last night after turning the lights out just after nine. Seemed forever, anyway. Awoke at fifteen minutes before seven, running a good half an hour late. Not unexpected, I guess, given how long it took me to get to sleep. Still, up and out the door to walk to breakfast under clear skies, the eyes watering like crazy in the cold, the nose not far behind.

Arrived at twenty after seven to sit down with the papers and order the avocado and cheese omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. Skinny papers today, but they kept me until nine, when I managed to again not notice that gas prices had dropped by two cents a gallon, not even thinking about it until I saw the photograph I'd taken when I brought it up later on the computer, but instead set off home futzing with the exposure taking the usual set of pictures on the way home. Hmm. Lost in a fog.

OK, reasonably clear headed now that I'm home. More than a few glitches in the web pages with the change to the new year, errors in the dates mainly, but obvious errors you'd think you'd have picked up no matter your age.

Are we bitching again?

Oh, probably. Noting the errors, anyway. None of them to the point of suggesting something more serious, I'm guessing, but things to watch none the same.

Nice day out there. I'd say I was going to get in a longer walk, part of a New Year's resolution, but I've said this too many times to say it again.

Later. Charging the car battery, something that will take at least a day, more likely a day and a half to complete, and so sitting here now in the early afternoon trying to talk myself into a walk. A haircut, maybe? I need one. But I'm holding out.

Later still. The tablet, television and the tablet. Mostly the tablet and the afternoon is gone. Not tired as I've been these last couple of days, but motivated not, although I did get the car battery charging, something I've put off for too long, long enough to worry, not about starting it, but it not starting when I returned from the morning restaurant or wherever else I might have driven.

And what pushed you into finally doing it?

They're saying rain Saturday morning and for days after, so the thought of having to walk in the rain pushed me over the edge.

Evening. Nothing on television I wanted to watch or watch again and so settle in with the tablet to finish up well after nine. A miserable time getting to sleep, last night, we'll now see if it happens again.

The photo up top was taken at the Medicare 50th Anniversary held in front of the Oakland City Hall in July 2015 with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 24-120mm f/4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
