Not

Friday. OK, another awakening at five forty-five, consistent, at least, but thirty minutes too early, getting up to see it wasn't raining. It wasn't and so out the door at the usual time to walk to breakfast, taking a couple of more pictures than usual before arriving at five minutes to seven, the restaurant open, the day underway.

Ordered the avocado and cheese omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast to settle in with the papers, finishing up just before nine. Still not raining, they're saying another large storm this Sunday, and so a comfortable enough walk home under dark skies, taking the usual pictures and arriving home to snap another selfie. The day started as all days seem to start around here and we're not complaining. Yet.

Not sure what's on the schedule. Checked the web and the package with the glucose tests strips is indeed due for delivery today, it arrived at the local post office here at four-thirty this morning, and so we can look forward to running a test.

You talked about finishing the web section for the RedForEd photographs.

We did. We'll think about that.

Later. The mail arrived this afternoon not long after one and indeed the glucose test strips and lancets arrived so we'll stick our fingers later and see what's what. Otherwise a bath using the shampoo the doctor recommended for the scalp (that arrived yesterday) and more time watching a movie on the tablet.

A quick walk to the construction site just up the street to see if they've made progress. I haven't seen any workers about while walking to and from breakfast lately and so a photograph. Not much difference since this one taken last Friday.

Evening. Television and then the tablet, the battery down to a forty percent charge when I turned it off well after nine. A bit of a record. The Women’s March tomorrow, which should be interesting, interesting for me at least, in seeing if I'll have it together enough to photograph it. Charged the camera batteries earlier thinking I would, a little voice all the while suggesting I might not.

The photograph was taken at the #RedForEd Teachers Strike demonstration at the Oakland City Hall with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 Nikkor VR lens.
