Eight

Saturday. Lights out after nine to awaken at six twenty-three, having gotten up a couple of times to take a leak. They keep suggesting you drink more water during the day and I've been adding a glass or three lately. They tend to get you up in the middle of the night.

Cold and clear on the walk to breakfast, a light visible in the kitchen of the otherwise dark restaurant, but the dining area door open and so entered to turn on the lights, sit down with the papers and await the arrival of the rest of the staff. So far, so good.

Had the single pork chop, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up somewhat early at eight twenty-five and walking home from breakfast, but with a detour to the post office to mail the birthday card the mailman hadn't picked up yesterday in my building lobby. Home to take a frazzled looking selfie.

Hadn't touched yesterday's entry after returning from the card shop run that afternoon and didn't have the energy to do more than hold my nose and post it. Tired. A good night's sleep last night? Maybe so as we're thinking nap starting right now.

Later. Tired the afternoon through and so ended up lying down a couple of times, taking a bath and watching television as well as stuff on the tablet. Hmm. Well, we'll see how the evening goes, if we maybe gain a little steam as we have in the past. No thought to go over to the lake, although I could see lots of people about on blankets and such with the sound of drums coming from the pergola area, the temperature nice and so the balcony sliding door open.

Evening. Still tired. Watched some television, watched stuff on the tablet and turned the lights out early, not long after eight.

The photograph was taken at the Women’s March by the Oakland City Hall with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR II lens.
