Ravens

Saturday. Tired last night and so to sleep relatively early to then awaken with the alarm at six-fifteen. Another long night's sleep. Skipped the blood pressure reading, checked the weather. It had rained last night and the world was wet, but decided to walk to breakfast dressed for the cold, arriving before the first waitress had arrived and so through the dining area door to turn on the lights and settle in with the papers.

The ground beef patty, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee this time, looking up from the papers some hour later to see it was raining really hard. Hmm. Wait on a bus in side the restaurant later if this keeps up? Didn't keep up and so finished up around twenty minutes to nine to set out on the wet sidewalk, the sun breaking through for the first time. Another picture of one of the flowers in the two planters along the way, another of a line of Lyft scooters by the lake and then home to take a selfie and settle in to finish yesterday's entry before posting. We do let these things lag and catching up doesn't do them all that much good. But we know that and we haven't done a thing about it.

The Oakland Lunar New Year Bazaar runs this weekend and I'd like to take pictures. There's a 49'ers game later today, maybe go shoot pictures before noon and catch the game when I return.

Later. A bus to the Lunar New Year Bazaar, the stretch between 20th and 10th still a construction mess, but much less traffic and so a decent enough trip, except I was thinking most of the way “what was I doing”? A walk through the Bazaar finding few pictures while feeling less than wonderful and so back to Broadway and a walk up to 20th, stopping on the way at the Latham Square Peet's for coffee and a bun. Feeling old and slow, I was. Lucked into a bus when I reached 20th and so straight home, arriving before one.

The 49'ers won, the Titans look like they're going to win as evening approaches and thus has gone the afternoon and into this evening.

Evening. I suspect all these feeling tired days are not going to get any better. Still able to take a picture or two, but we're no longer able to really say we're able to get out there and function like a real photographer. Such is life, I guess. The Titans, by the way, whipped the Ravens.

The photograph was taken at the #RedForEd Teachers Strike demonstration in January 2019 at the Oakland City Hall with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 Nikkor VR lens.
