Tonight

Wednesday. Awoke at five-thirty to listen to the radio while still half asleep, then up at six to get ready to walk to breakfast under clear skies, the temperature not so bad, arriving before seven to find the restaurant open and people inside.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries (dusted with powdered sugar), fruit cup and coffee this time, finishing up by about a quarter to nine to walk home, take a couple of pictures of flowers along the way, but not finding any bicycles at lights or scooters on the sidewalk to photograph. There'd been a line of Lyft scooters parked on the sidewalk just outside the restaurant near the fitness center walking, but only two of them remained as I was returning, people waiting around them for a table. Wondered about Lyft choosing that place to put them. The restaurant can't be happy.

The selfie in the lobby and up to finish and post yesterday's entry. A shingles shot today? We'll see.

Later. It was interesting. A walk to the bus stop feeling tired, but determined to go downtown and get the shingles shot, getting on the bus to find I was feeling more and more “tired” as we approached the City Center, getting off the bus and walking to Wallgreens becoming ever more wobbly. Did I want to get this shot and then walk back up Broadway to 20th to catch a bus home? Had I known this was going to happen I would definitely not have come.

Still, to the Wallgreens pharmacy to wait in line and sign up for the shot, taken back a bit when I learned it cost one hundred and eighty-two dollars. The earlier, less effective shingles shot, hadn't really cost much of anything. Got the shot and walked over to the café in the Rotunda building, thinking I wanted to sit for a while, have a raspberry shortcake cookie with coffee and rest. Which I did.

Long story short, walked up Broadway, missed the 20th Street bus by a minute, walked on to Grand and Webster and waited for twenty minutes for the next bus to arrive, rode straight home and crashed on the bed. Took a good hour for the tiredness to dissipate. There's a second shot required that must be taken not earlier than two months from now and not later than six months from now to be complete. I kind of hope the fee for the first shot included the cost of the second, but I'm obviously committed and don't have any control over that.

Evening. Checked my Medicare plan to make sure the Wallgreens pharmacy today was in my network. Two local Wallgreens were, but not the one on Broadway. I'll check it out tomorrow. Too much fucking paperwork.

The shoulder is a little sore, no big deal, although best I don't sleep on it tonight.

The photo up top was taken in front of an entrance to the Asian Cultural Center on January 31st, 2014 with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 24-120mm f/4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
