Did Me or Did Me Not?
Half a week gone and its already the 20th of January. Anyone notice these weeks pass by? Did they have names? Were they polite? Did they read any good books or make any new friends? What am I going to do this year that I'll remember later in life? Better step on the gas a bit, better get out of the house. How about Mr. Wuss, who is right now scouting the patio in the dark? Is that what keeps his tail straight: adventures in the garden, thrills near the park? Maybe. For cats.

This is the pep talk before the weekend. Writing these things has made me see how my moods change. Up - down - up - down. I've heard it said that that's all right as long as you maintain your balance and jump one to another, not too slow and not too fast, skipping instead of missing and getting stuck. So I'm practicing my skipping. Little hoppy toad skips and a jump, one mood to another, one thought to the next.

I did a page for my intranet site at work today. Went well. Simple stuff: a page with a list of links to files on our FTP site. Click on this to download that. Internet browser installation files. Felt good. Felt like doing more over the next few months as opposed to having to do more over the next few months.

Maybe this will translate into the weekend as well. Need to push myself out. Go to San Francisco Saturday and wander through the old neighborhood with a camera. Wander through North Beach and Chinatown. Wonder how many of the old places are left? Be curious to see. I'll read my journal next week. Did me or did me not?

The banner photograph was taken at the Cinco de Mayo Parade in San Francisco last summer. Yes, it's out of focus. No, you will not be able to view it at the Met.
