In Political Science
I finally saw Fahrenheit 9/11 this afternoon. Nothing in it to disagree with, nothing to believe isn't essentially true, although I suspect it isn't going to change any minds solidly planted in the Bush desert, except, well, maybe for one or two. And that's all that's required: one or two. Then we'll have Kerry to ponder. The Republicans nominated and somehow elected Bush because he "was electable".
Remember that? The Republicans nominating Bush "because he was electable" after he gave his speech at Bob Jones University to cement his bona fides with southern conservatives and his political adviser Karl Rove crushed John McCain in the southern Super Tuesday by outspending him two to one, twenty-four seven on television, branding him a low down flaming pinko and not very Republican? Well, one reason Kerry is on the ticket " is because he can beat Bush". That's what everyone said in the primaries, "anybody but Bush". Once we have Kerry, who knows? No thoughts of not voting for Kerry you understand, but I'm not sure Nader (the dirty rat) doesn't have it right.
Now that you've lost any Republican readers....
Now that we've 86'ed the Republicans we can get down to booting the Independents, the Libertarians, the Greens and those fucking liberal do-gooder Democrats who want to reinstate government funding for dirty movies and loose hordes of Cadillac driving welfare mammas onto the streets of Oakland, ban SUV's and raise gasoline taxes.
Cadillac driving welfare mammas? Do-gooder Democrats? What have we been smoking?
I believe one of Reagan's little people coined "Cadillac driving welfare mammas". Brilliant stroke, that; worked like a charm, all truth aside. It's the "all truth aside" that gives me heartburn. If there are welfare mammas in Cadillac's here in Oakland, they're in the back seat giving head to the pimp who owns it trying to make rent or feed their kids (or score, of course, it does go round and round). With Bush it's weapons of mass destruction. With me it was undoubtedly that Fuzzy Logic class I failed in college many years back, not flashing to the fact "fuzzy" and "logic" are not just an element of the sciences, but necessary to a fundamental understanding of "Political Science" (and I took my degree in Political Science).
Are we bitter?
I don't know, it just sorta came out. Otherwise a good day. Maybe it was the movie. How can a man be bitter with a degree in Political Science?
