Things In Life
Sunday. We got in last night after midnight, so to bed and up around ten-thirty, feeling reasonably good for all that travel. Breakfast here at the house, a large bowl of cerial, a banana, a small glass of orange juice and then out later to a local Starbucks just across the highway for coffee and a copy of the New York Times. Some habits are hard to break.

OK, download the pictures from the family party, run one or two through Photoshop and then take off for downtown Portland to have lunch and shoot pictures with my sister. It is good to shoot pictures with one's sister.

A good outing, I needed a good walk, nothing much in the way of photographs, but one or two that were worth taking. This guy reminds me of a fellow or a group of fellows (variations also done by one or two women with a different perspective) who did it for years, may still be carrying on the tradition now, in Union Square in San Francisco.

So good, a ride back home in the late afternoon, some more picture downloading and then a thirty minute, maybe longer, lie down on the bed to zone out hugging a pillow, feeling much better for the effort. Clean up some problems with my sister's computer (a brother with computer skills is always useful) and sitting here now just after six. To bed early, I think, for a fresh day tomorrow so we can (well?) go out and shoot more photographs. Some things in life are simple.

The photograph was taken at the San Francisco 2010 Gay Pride Parade with a Nikon D3s mounted with a 70 - 200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR II lens.
