Here In Oakland

Art & Life

July 29, 2018

Oakland

Sunday. Lights out last night before ten to awaken then at six twenty-five after a longer than usual night's rest, thinking that's good if we're going to photograph another day at the Art & Soul Festival. And we do want to go today. We do.

Drove to the restaurant at six-fifty figuring it was a five minute drive and there'd be a good chance someone would have opened the restaurant by then and indeed that was the case. Fine. With our three Sunday papers in tow we settled into an oatmeal, toast and coffee breakfast (nothing there to encourage an ocular anything later), finishing up with the papers by nine to drive home to finish yesterday's entry and see how the rest of the morning would unfold, whether the head would turn fuzzy again when we set off to Art & Soul.

Still, so far, so good. The sinus-upper palate ache is there, but then it's aways there and today it's behaving.

Later. None of yesterday's fuzzy headed issues at Art & Soul this time, setting off to the bus stop at one to head downtown ready to take pictures. Well, certainly more ready than I was yesterday, spending somewhat more than an hour. Still arrived too early, people streaming in during the hour that I was there, but a least a walk around the area taking the odd shot as I found it. Them.

Evening. Didn't process but one picture when I got home, but at least there are enough between the two days to put together a section for the web. Art & Soul has never really lent itself to my kind of shooting, even back when the head wasn't so fuzzy and I'd spend well more than an hour taking pictures. Still, we did get a section.

Spent the evening on the tablet (after watching the two Elementary episodes that started at five), getting closer to finishing the never ending Thai series, each of its episodes running just over an hour, bailing finally to turn the lights out at ten. Not a bad day, I'd say, not too much whinging on a Sunday, here in Oakland.
