Instead

Thursday. To sleep soon after ten to awaken minutes before six, get up, take the blood pressure (122/61) and drive to breakfast under overcast skies, sitting out on their patio again to have the two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for the umpteen millionth time.

I'd been thinking of driving to the Lakeshore Wallgreens on the way home to get the Shingles shot if they'd gotten in the PPE gear they'd said they needed to administer the shot, but finished up after nine, took the now usual two pictures on the way to the car and drove straight home instead, snapping the selfie and settling in here at the computer. We'll walk over to the Wallgreens later was the excuse.

Later. Felt the precursors to an optical migraine, feeling wobbly with the sparkly blog briefly appearing when I closed my eyes, so lied down to let it subside for an hour before getting up and driving to another smog-test shop on Broadway for testing, which they did only to have it fail again. Drive it for a while longer and then bring it back for another test was the advice. OK, another forty minute run of getting on and then off the highway a number of times to vary the speed before bringing it back next week.

Still felt a little off or at least not back to where I'd like to be and so drove home, picking up a pint of strawberry ice cream, Dorito chips and bean dip at the 7-11 look-alike along the way, thinking comfort food more than being hungry. Been a while since I've done that.

Ate the ice cream and some of the chips and dip, then lied down for an hour and life was again online. We'll do the driving, do it right and then see if it works. I suspect it has to do with the battery or, worse yet, the electronics, but we'll see.

Evening. Scrambled to find something to watch on the tablet. I often find the series I've gotten into aren't able to keep me engaged for more than short periods of time before I go looking for something more.

Broke to watch the beginning of Vera on PBS at eight, realized I'd seen it before and even vaguely recalled the final scene and who'd done the evil deed, but stayed with it until it broke for another subscribe to your public television station routine and I opted for bed instead.

The photo up top was taken at the 2016 San Francisco Anime & Cosplay Festival with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
