Thursday. To sleep soon enough, I seem to recall, awakening for good at six to listen to Democracy Now! before getting up and driving to breakfast for not good reason other than I didn't want to walk, arriving at seven-thirty to enter the indoor dining area, turn on the lights, take my usual place at the table and start on the papers.
The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for no good reason as I was just slightly over the one fifty-five pounds I strive to stay under, finishing up at nine to walk to the car and drive straight home to take the selfie before settling in to finish yesterday's entry, post, process the few pictures taken this morning and start here.
Overcast and having thoughts of getting in a decent walk to make up for driving this morning. We often have these thoughts and usually know when we're bullshitting. This morning I'm not so sure, might actually get outside. With a camera.
Later. Didn't get outside. No surprises there I suspect. Turned on the old laptop and checked when I'd last booted it. Two years ago. Took hours to download all the various updates, literally hours. It runs the no longer supported Windows 7 Professional operating system and the hardware won't take the later operating systems and so, I suspect, the laptop is no longer usable. I've had it now since I retired, over ten years, don't think I'll replace it.
Otherwise the usual time lying on the bed watching this and that on the tablet, checking the news programs, most of them not reporting on anything I haven't read or heard before, but it seems to be burned into my brain: watch the news programs when they run. My idea of fun?
Evening. Watched an episode of Vera I've seen before, maybe more than once. Immediately recognized the beginning, as I almost always do, but didn't remember who'd done it as the scenes unfolded, some of which I remembered when they started, some not. To bed then at nine-thirty, lights out after the six minute ten o'clock news.
