Act Like Adults
Tuesday. To bed early, yes, up forty-five minutes after the alarm because I guess I needed the sleep, off to breakfast and back on an overcast, cool, but not quite cold, morning. Another day that should show some sun before it's done.

The now permanently rescheduled guitar lesson this afternoon at two-thirty. I hope this works out. Should. These little clinker ocular events, when they occur, tend to come in the late mornings and the late afternoons. We should be home by the late afternoon with plenty of time to duck and tuck our little self into bed. He said.

Later. A walk over to the lake to note the geese and to get some air. And there were geese in two large groups, whether there are more in the earlier mornings or later at night I may one day go over and find out. If I'm really interested. If the world stops turning between five and six. A couple of pictures before returning to the apartment.

Another walk not long thereafter, thinking I'd bring the 12-24mm f/2.8 lens, a lens I haven't used now in some time, to see if it would make any difference in photographing the geese. Tried a shot or two of the geese (didn't work) and a couple more of the lake surroundings. Interesting lens, but I understand why I don't use it all that much. Only so many pictures like these before you become jaded.

Not useful in portraits.

Not unless you or your editor wants your subject to look like a creature from another planet.

Later still. Not a bad lesson, some interesting stuff assigned for this week's lesson. Fine. We're ready. I'm ready. Maybe a steak sandwich for a late lunch/dinner, skip the red clam sauce over spaghetti that seems to have been a part of what happened yesterday.

Evening. A Maigret I haven't seen before (good). A bit odd, most of the characters wacko's, but that's usually the case with a Maigret as I suspect that's what draws me to it. In this one you had to imagine which of the long list of wackos was the bad guy/girl, something (in a Maigret) I'm not sure you're supposed to be able to figure out.

A walk over to the ATM on Lakeview after it was over, still light and I needed a walk. Well, more I wanted to get out of the apartment and there was still enough time to walk the couple of miles and get back before dark. I don't like to walk after dark, with or without a camera, even though this area isn't particularly deserted or dangerous until midnight or later when things have indeed been known to happen.

Nothing on television I want to watch, so to bed early, no need to run by the ATM in the morning before breakfast tomorrow in the car. A good day, something of a sinus headache from time to time, but nothing to complain about.

You just did by mentioning it.

Ah well, we can't all act like adults.

The photo up top was taken at the San Francisco Carnaval Parade with a Nikon D4 mounted with an 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
