Weather

Wednesday. Lights out by nine-thirty and going to sleep with the fan whirring at the foot of the bed to awaken once during the night and then for good again at five-forty five. So far, so good. Up to open the balcony door and the bedroom windows to let the now cooler air in while at breakfast, setting out in t-shirt and light jacket again, arriving at the restaurant at five to seven to find it open and overly warm inside. OK, open the windows along the dining room side.

The single pork chop, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast - Did they bring the fruit cup? I don't think they did. Why would I not notice or remember? - finishing up again at eight-thirty and then to set out for home, the air warmer now, best to close the balcony door and bedroom windows when I arrived. The usual pictures to include one of what looks to be a crew preparing to chop up the downed tree by the lake. Maybe go over later to take a picture.

Another selfie, of course, and upstairs to sit in front of the fan at the computer table and start on this. They're saying into the seventies instead of the nineties today and even cooler tomorrow. We're in favor of even cooler tomorrow.

Later. Warm out there, but bearable in a t-shirt and so a walk over to the lake to see how they were doing with the downed tree, one of the workers asking me why I was taking pictures, which gave me an opportunity to ask her why the tree had gone over. She said the high temperatures and they were often out on missions like this after an unusually warm period. No sign it was anything else. OK. Didn't know that. Hope it doesn't happen to too many others.

Home then to get out of the sun. Tolerable sitting here in front of the fan, but still too warm inside the apartment. They're saying a high of eighty-two degrees today, in the high sixties tomorrow.

Evening. Open the sliding balcony door wide, open the bedroom windows, put the fan at the foot of the bed and turn the lights out by nine-thirty. We'll write this day off to the weather.

The photo up top was taken one year ago at the 2018 Oakland Sex Workers Protest with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
