Inside
Wednesday. Lights out and sleep not long after ten to awaken again at five fifty-five, right on time to listen to the five minute KPFA news and then Democracy Now! at six, getting up then feeling a little groggy at seven-thirty to head out walking to breakfast, passing by the now finished mural in the parking lot at the bottom of my hill and then on to breakfast, a photo of trash that had been scattered on the sidewalk from an upended container, taking it more because it was the only one that hadn't been cleaned up since yesterday, the others having been cleaned up.
Arrived to enter the dark closed off dining area, turn on the lights and settle in with the papers. Warm walking in under a bright rising sun, wearing a t-shirt and light jacket as I'd done yesterday, the weather people saying well into the eighties later. I believe them.
The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee again, we're still watching the weight. Finished up not long after nine to then walk home with the temperature now higher, making it almost uncomfortably warm in that light jacket. Found I wasn't as “clear headed” as I'd felt yesterday walking home, a little more tired. The temperature? Who knows, we took pictures, life was good with or without the whinging.
On under the 580 Overpass, by the lake and to the apartment lobby where I took the selfie before settling in with yesterday's unfinished entry, the head seemingly up for pasting it together before posting and then working on the pictures and starting here. None of the tiredness I experienced yesterday around this time. Cross fingers.
Later. Stayed inside, the temperature setting a record of eight-eight degrees today. Watched an episode of a series on Britbox, followed what's happening on Facebook and listened to the news. No surprises.
In watching the news I learned that Steven Curry, his wife along with other Warrior team members had led a crowd on a protest walk around Lake Merritt and, had I known this was to happen, I might have walked down to at least attempt a snapshot or two.
I'd also read there was a group of locals who were planning on holding a demonstration in the nearby park at the corner of MacArthur and Lakeshore at eleven-thirty, but had forgotten about it and so not a thought to attend when I remembered again this morning after it had started. No complaints, just me being me, I guess.
Evening. Nothing on television and so finished watching the last episode of a Britbox series on the tablet, turning the lights out at the usual time just after ten. The sound of helicopters could be heard in the distance until well after ten and so there are still things happening out there, but best, even if I had the energy, to stay here inside.
