Potion
Thursday. Lights out somewhat later than I'd have liked to then not really get to sleep for quite a while. At least that was the thought at the time. Awoke then way early at just after five, wide awake, no dozing off as usual until something like six and so got up and turned on the computer to see if I couldn't finish yesterday's entry, at least, and did redo the last paragraph, but stopped at that point to go back to bed and listen to Democracy Now! thinking the head was too fuzzy to write. Too fuzzy to write. Seems I've heard that before.
Up and out the door to walk to breakfast on another bright and sunny morning, the weather people saying one more day in the mid-eighties and so wore a t-shirt and a light jacket, the jacket more for its pockets than needing the warmth.
Arrived at ten minutes to seven to enter the closed off dining area, turn on the lights and settle in with the papers. Ordered the single pork chop, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee because that's what I'd been thinking about when walking and the scale had been kind to me when I climbed on it this morning.
Finished up after nine to take a picture to document the blank gas station sign before heading on home to take the usual string of pictures of (mostly) the same old flowers, the walk going quickly when I'm looking for/thinking about pictures rather than wondering “how long is this going to take” and “when do we arrive?”.
I'd gotten a call from the apartment manager when I was finishing breakfast to say the workmen on the balconies needed to enter my apartment and nail two boards at the base of my sliding balcony door, not sure if I was home or having breakfast. Told him to let them in if they had to do it before I got home at nine-thirty.
Anyway, wondered what nailing two strips of wood was about as I was heading on home still snapping pictures, coming up on the apartment house and the truck bearing the scaffolding before entering through the garage door and to the lobby to take the selfie before settling in with yesterday's entry, posting and starting here.
Later. Definitely hot out there, the weather people saying much cooler tomorrow, maybe even a chance of showers on Saturday. In any case I vegetated in front of the fan, watching more series both on the tablet and at the computer by the living room and not writing a line until the morning, the brain foggy and in no condition to write.
Evening. Managed to stay up long enough to watch the beginning of Vera at eight, realized immediately I'd seen it before and didn't want to continue, although I had no idea of the story line or how it turned out. Ate a bowl of Raisin Bran with milk, thinking it would take an hour or so to have it develop ocular migraine symptoms (and make it easy to get to sleep) before heading to bed. We'll soon enough see if the Raisin Bran works as a sleeping potion.
