At Ten

Monday. To sleep soon enough after ten to then awaken at five-thirty. To be expected, I guess, that's what seems to happen when I turn out the lights at ten. Up to walk to breakfast under reasonably clear skies, arriving at the restaurant at the usual time to turn on the lights in the closed off dining room and settle in with the papers in the midst of fewer stacked chairs, tables and restaurant supplies. They're getting ready to open their patio to diners on Friday and so they're starting to get prepared.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee again, finishing up after nine to then set out for home, again under mostly clear skies with the light varying from bright to really bright, making guessing at camera adjustments a little harder. A high of seventy later this afternoon, the weather people saying about the same tomorrow, but then it will get up to eighty on Wednesday and Thursday.

On along Grand and by the usual line of scooters sitting out near the lake, arriving to take the selfie and settle in with yesterday's entry and then starting here.

Later. An afternoon spent with the tablet and listening to (some of) the usual news programs. Reading three papers in the mornings introduces you to much of what's going to be reported later on during the day on radio and television, so even we addicts will cool our heels. Not hard to guess what's on the front pages these days, although the Supreme Court's decision on LBGTQ employment discrimination happily came out of the blue.

Evening. The very limited number of television stations I receive are again nothing playing I wanted to watch, so back to bed and the tablet before eight, lights out and radio off after the NPR news at ten.

The photo up top was taken at the San Francisco Carnaval Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
