West

Tuesday. Awoke this morning at ten minutes after six, which is good. Up on a sunny cloudless day to set out walking to breakfast at seven twenty-five, arriving at ten minutes to eight again and on into the closed off dining room area to turn on the lights and settle in with the papers.

The avocado and mushroom omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee, this time, remembering I hadn't had an omelet in forever, forgetting more due to memory failure than anything other. No complaints, finished up at well after nine to walk home under what was now a bright and much warmer sun, at least that was what I was thinking in a long sleeved shirt and light summer jacket.

About half the people I passed weren't wearing masks again, probably not a good sign, home to take the selfie and settle in to slap together a finish to yesterday's entry before posting, but then lying down feeling both tired and a little woozy. Not sure the difference between “tired” and “woozy”, but that was how I was feeling. Didn't start here with this until well into the afternoon.

Later. Hooked the car battery up to the charger. I've been nervous these last few times I've driven to breakfast and the meter on the charger confirmed it was indeed in need. So it should finish sometime tomorrow, probably in the late afternoon. Hard to justify owning a car when you don't really drive anymore, maybe do something about it at the end of the year. Or decade.

Otherwise updated four of the five Adobe software updates I received notice on this morning. Takes over an hour for each to run and it ties up any downloads from the Internet, which means there's no way to watch any videos on the computer or the tablet. So we listened to the news and napped.

Evening. For some reason didn't realize Last Tango in Halifax was playing this evening and so didn't get a chance to start it and then give up before it was finished, bitching about it here. Did stumble into an interesting program on the life of May West with an emphasis on the Feminist aspects of her life and career. Added enormously to my knowledge of the woman and her place in film, what made her an enormous success. Really described a totally different and more substantial woman than I'd ever imagined. Do not mess with May West.

The photo up top was taken at the San Francisco Carnaval Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
