Loud
Thursday. Half awakened at five-thirty, awoke for real at six and, as usual, listened to Democracy Now! while shaving in bed, heading out to drive to breakfast at seven thirty-five to arrive, find an open parking slot right in front of the restaurant and enter the closed off dining area for the last time to turn on the lights and settle in with the papers. They will be serving customers at their outdoor tables starting tomorrow and so I'm wondering how that will be with mask-less people eating breakfast six feet apart in the open air.
Ordered the two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee, finishing up again after nine to snap a picture of that plant again before getting in the car and driving straight home. The selfie in the lobby and up to settle in at the computer to diddle with yesterday's entry before posting. They're saying well up into the eighties later today and I believe them, the sky clear and the temperature definitely rising.
Later. Finished the last episode of a series I've been watching on the tablet and watched/listened to the usual news programs. Well, listened to them as they droned on in the background through another pandemic afternoon. How often did I get outside before the virus arrived? Not all that often toward the end and so plenty of practice in this staying inside routine.
Evening. Watched Vera at eight. I'd seen at least the beginning of it before, but remembered nothing of what followed, so I watched what followed. To bed before ten, but having some difficulty in getting to sleep.
Explosions this evening in the distance. Not really loud enough to keep me awake, but there have been a number of evenings with periods of intermittent (I'm assuming) firecrackers going off, M-80's and the like, from around nine until after ten. Fourth of July coming up? Firecrackers now around and about? Some quite loud.
