Sink In

Monday. Lights out after nine-thirty to get to sleep OK, awakening though at five-thirty, earlier than I'd have liked. Up to check the weather and see if was raining and so drove again to breakfast to arrive before seven and find the restaurant had just opened and so inside to settle in at my table and start on the papers. They're saying the rest of this day will be relatively clear, no rain for this coming week.

No thought to what I might like for breakfast and so said OK when the waitress suggested the two strips of bacon, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee again. No complaints, but obviously in something close to a breakfast rut. Finished up by a quarter to nine with but one regular diner arriving just before I left, this coronavirus having its effect. The café owner had taken a run to Safeway and back and mentioned it was really crowded, something I'll have to deal with one of these coming days.

Straight to the car and home, taking the selfie as always in the lobby and then up to settle in here at the computer, futz with yesterday's entry and post to then sit and figure out where we go from here.

Later. Starting tomorrow we're under a shelter in place advisory/edict: stay inside except for necessary trips for food, doctor's appointments and the like. You can walk the dog, but keep your distance from passersby. I'm assuming walking to breakfast qualifies if indeed the restaurant will still be open. Otherwise we're here inside.

Otherwise did the usual news programs, some of the usual news programs anyway, and watched Bancroft, a Britbox series on the tablet with one of the weirder story lines I've ever run into before. Also started The Valhalla Murders, an Icelandic series, if only because I'm Icelandic on my mother's side than anything else. Lots of snow but with characters that have psychological problems that seem recognizable compared with Bancroft in that they aren't completely off the chart.

You should really work on that so it makes some sense.

Evening. Lights out by nine-thirty again. We'll get up at the usual time and drive by the morning restaurant, see if it's closed. This “shelter in place” business is starting to sink in.
