Hup! Hup! Hup!
Monday. Overcast, looking much as it did yesterday about this time, although yesterday it started raining for about an hour before clearing. They're saying a chance of rain today, but the rest of the week will be sun. I'm good with that.

Once I'd returned from the street fair (the street faire) yesterday I was pretty much done in for dealing with the journal. I get tired, the head gets cloudy and I can't tell if what I've written is something a sensible person would want to post. I am a sensible person, by the way. I just hide it well. So I'll wait til morning to take another look as I did this morning, making changes as needed before putting it up. Whatever energy I lost scooting around the How Weird Faire came back after a nap, but I used it in PhotoShopping the photographs and left it at that. Time then for bed. Time then for a good night's sleep. Which I got.

This morning to breakfast and the papers at the usual place, home by eight. I find I'm having trouble selecting anything I want to eat off their menu anymore. They serve a traditional entire day's worth of calories breakfast, what I'd call a breakfast you'd have on a weekend, consisting of every kind of egg, meat, processed cheese, potatoes, muffins and toast. Lots of omlettes. Pancakes. Burrito-like breakfast wraps. The kind of things your doctor warns you about.

So I stick with the plain blue berry waffle with a banana on top - no butter, no syrup - as often as not or, as this morning, with corned beef hash, potatoes and toast, leaving most of the hash and potatoes, but eating the toast. Maybe that's why I'm usually the only person eating in the dining room so early, all of the other regulars are dead. Heart failure. Cholesterol. Well, such is life. We'll do as we can and rationalize the rest.

I like the picture up top. A bit confusing, but nice. There were a couple of others I took in the distorting mirror near the entrance when I arrived. Nothing special, I should have spent more time getting them right. There were a number of other small touches scattered about the faire just like it, simple and familiar objects you might find at a carnival for example. Nice. As this street fair evolves it seems to be refining its act. But that was yesterday, today is finish the faire page for artandlife and get out for a walk. Hup! Hup! When your attitude is good, take advantage of it.

Later. One last walk to the BofA ATM to withdraw what I'd left in it to pay this last month's banking fee after getting a response to my cancellation request suggesting, after much hemming and hawing, that's what they need to cut me loose. I wonder if some other section at the bank will come back later and ask for it back. I wonder too about the credit card, if they'll start charging fees and such, but more as a measure of how these things are handled after reading so many stories in the press (over breakfast). But I digress.

Straight back from the ATM to the apartment, a first glint of sun breaking through the clouds, sitting at the computer then to finish a new How Weird Street Faire page for artandlife. One page only, straining at that, but no complaints. I find I'm looking at them differently after last night and I'm assuming that's good. You become upset with what you're doing and you change. Or you quit. I won't quit.

Now for a walk when the sun comes out. If the sun comes out. I have a hankering for sake, haven't had anything to drink now in a couple of weeks, not sure why. Beverages & More later sounds right. If the sun comes out.

Later still. It's raining. Yes it is. No way I'm going out for a walk, maybe that sake run later, maybe not. Went through yesterday’s photos again and for some reason found ten or so I'd skipped the first time around that seemed, well, decent. Reasonably good. So maybe I did better than I'd thought. Not enough to cobble another page together on artandlife, but they can be used here in the journal. Good feeding for photographs in the summers with the bay area fairs, festivals, parades and such.

Sounds like you're winding down, running out of gas. Maybe pick it up with a little of the “hup! hup! hup!”

It's raining. Maybe later, much later, with the “Hup! Hup! Hups!”
